What are threaded rods / bars and what are they used for?

Our fasteners range includes threaded rods and bars in a wide variety of sizes in self-colour mild steelA2 stainless steel, A4 stainless-steel, and metric zinc plated steel.

We also stock metric BZP and A2 304 stainless steel threaded rod connectors that are simply screwed onto the end of one threaded rod to join the next threaded rod.

Threaded rod, also referred to as stud, studding, all-thread, or threaded bar, is a long rod or bar that has a screw thread along the full length. All our threaded rod is supplied with a right-hand thread as standard.

Threaded rod is a metal fastener like a bolt or screw, only longer and without a head.

The “M” designation stands for metric and the number proceeding this is the nominal diameter of the bar in millimetres, therefore, M10 threaded rod has a diameter of 10 mm.

metals4U also supply a wide range of metric nuts, washers, and threaded rod connectors
