What is brass sheet and plate and what is it used for?

Our brass sheet metal, also often called plate, is supplied in grade CZ108 and delivered to you in a choice of finish-

Bright polish finish. One side of the sheet is bright polish finish which has a protective thin plastic coating on which is easily be removed by you after fabrication, and the reverse is mill finish.

Mill finish. Both sides of the brass sheet are mill finish. This will have grain marks and general signs of manufacture on both surfaces. This product has not been surface treated in any way after being produced.

Brushed/ satin polish finish. One side of the sheet is mill finish and the reverse is finished to a dull or brushed satin finish supplied with a thin protective plastic film coating- this is easily removed after fabrication.

Brass plate and sheet are generally used for decorative work, door kicker plates, signs and trophies, but is also used in electrical components, sculptures, and hinges.

CZ108 grade brass sheet has excellent formability and good corrosion resistance properties.

Drilling is very simple, and excellent results can be obtained when engraving, making it very popular for name plates and signs.

As well as our standard stock sizes we can supply any cut piece up to a maximum dimension of 2500mm x 1250mm and in thicknesses ranging from 1mm to 3mm.
