What is hot rolled mild steel?

Hot-rolled mild steel is a specific form of mild steel that has undergone a hot-rolling process. During this process, the steel is heated to a high temperature, exceeding the re-crystallisation temperature, and then passed through rollers to form shapes such as sheets, bars, or plates. The high temperatures in this process make hot-rolled mild steel more malleable, allowing it to be shaped more efficiently. This process also produces a rough surface finish, typical for hot-rolled products.
