What is galvanising?
Galvanising is a process that involves coating steel with a protective layer of zinc to prevent rust and corrosion. This zinc layer acts as a barrier, shielding the steel from moisture and other environmental factors that cause corrosion. The galvanising process
The galvanising process typically involves several steps to ensure the steel is thoroughly protected:

- Pickling - The steel is dipped in an acidic solution to remove any further oxidation, ensuring a clean surface for the zinc coating to adhere to.
- Fluxing - To prevent oxidation before the steel enters the galvanising bath it is coated in a flux solution
- Galvanising Bath - The steel is then submerged in a bath of molten zinc which bonds to the steel at a molecular level.
- Cooling and Inspection - The steel is cooled, inspected, and tested for coating quality and thickness after galvanising.
