Previous FAQ said this can be bent 'but is not recommended' - I thought aluminium is ideal for bending as softer than steel - could you please clarify: Aluminium should be less difficult to bend than steel given that it is softer. However the item is not designed for this purpose, though with appropriate tooling can be bent.
