EN24T steel is a commonly used grade of through-hardening alloy steel because it has very good machinability in the "T" condition. EN24T is often specified for components including shafts, gears, bolts and many other applications.
This nickel chromium molybdenum specification also has a hardness in the range 248/302 HB. It also combines a good high tensile steel strength along with ductility, shock and wear resistance. This grade can also be further surface-hardened to manufacture products with increased wear resistance by nitriding processing or induction. These steel round bars can be welded though it is not recommended due to them already being heat treated.
We offer this in a range of metric and imperial round bars to suit the highest number of requirements. If you need a mild steel bar in a diameter that is not in our range then please get in touch and we will do our best to help you.
