CZ108 Brass

Buy Brass online at metals4U

Brass is an alloy that is comprised of Copper and Zinc. Different grades of Brass will also contain elements of other alloys that will provide different properties. Brass has a high tensile strength, high corrosion resistance and is suitable to be hot forged.

Brass is separated into two types of class. Alpha alloys contain less than 37% Zinc in them, are ductile and can be cold worked. Alpha/beta alloys contain 37-45% Zinc and are both harder and stronger but are less cold ductility.

CZ108 Brass is an alpha alloy of high purity that is excellent for cold forming and can be readily drawn. CZ108 Brass alloy has excellent to good corrosion resistance in most environments. It should not be used in applications that contain nitric, hydrochloric or acetic acid as well as moist ammonia of ammonia compounds.

CZ108 is normally used when the user requires server bending of riveting properties. It is used in nail, screw, radiators, heat exchangers, chains and scientific applications. Machining of CZ108 can take only at low speeds with very light feeds. Fabrication of the alloy is rated as fair.
