What is aluminium hexagon bar and what is it used for?
Aluminium hexagon bar is supplied in 6082T6 grade aluminium and is widely used for the manufacture of machined parts. It is particularly suitable for making bolts, nuts, and fixings.
It can be easily cut using a hacksaw or a band-saw to the required lengths. Aluminium hex bar is lightweight and has a great weight to strength ratio which makes it very versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications and DIY projects.
The T6 temper designation identifies this product has been solution heat treated and artificially aged during production and it assists the formation of tight coils of swarf when chip breakers are used; this hexagonal rod is also easily drilled at quite high machine speeds.
