What are welding cables and leads and what are they used for?

Welding cables are used in stick welding machines to carry power to the electrode or welding rod.

Our stock of welding cables and welding leads are available in a range of diameter from 16mm right through to 95mm and in a choice of three presentations; double insulated copper, rubber covered, and pvc coated copper.

It is important to use the correct type of lead when welding; it should never be substituted for a cable with thicker or less copper strands (such as battery cable) to ensure it can safely handle high voltage applications
