Stainless Steel TIG Welding Rods & Electrodes
What are stainless steel TIG welding rods and electrodes and what are they used for?
Our range of stainless steel TIG welding rods / filler metals holds a wide variety of rods suitable for the differing requirements of stainless steel welding applications.
310 - chromium nickel rod for heat-resistant austenitic steels. Recommended for use in high temperature applications such as heat exchangers and industrial furnaces.
312 - 29.9 stainless filler rod for difficult to join steels such as Mn steel, tool steel, and spring steels. High crack resistance and also suitable for joining dissimilar metals.
347 - with added niobium to provide excellent corrosion resistance and to prevent weld decay. Suitable for use where the weld will be subjected to temperatures over 400 °C.
308L - for welding 18/8 (304) austenitic stainless steel.
316L - suitable for molybdenum bearing austenitic stainless steels.
309LSI - contains high chromium and nickel for welding dissimilar and similar composition stainless steels.
A18 - copper coated.
Duplex - Suitable for use in offshore and sour work applications due to high resistance to pitting, intergranular, and stress corrosion. Suitable for use with austenitic-ferritic stainless steel.
