Flux Cored MIG Wire - Flux Cored MIG Welding Wire
What is flux cored MIG welding wire and what is it used for?
Flux cored MIG wire is available as gas shielded and self shielding presentations.
Gas shielded wire requires a shielding gas and the slag is easy to remove- this is particularly well suited to weld thick metals and welds that are compeleted 'out of position'. The flux solidifies faster than the weld metal to create support to hold the molten weld metal on vertical and overhead applications.
Self-shielding flux cored MIG welding wire does not require the addition of a shielding gas as the weld pool is protected by the gases produced when the flux core is burned- this makes self- shielding wire much more suitable for portable welding as no additional gas tank is required.
OUr flux cored MIG welding wire range is available in 308LP, 309LP, 316LP, E110C, E71T1, and E81T-Ni1grades and in a range of diameters.
MIG wire is sold by weight (rather than length) in reels of 0.45kg, 0.9kg, 4.55kg, and 15kg.
