Purchasing Corrugated Roofing Sheet from metals4U is simple. You can order through our easy to use website, or call our customer services team on 01937 534318What is Corrugated Roofing Sheet?
Mild steel sheet that has been stretched during the manufacturing process, and then rolled through a rolling die to produce a linear, wavy pattern of peaks and troughs, is known as Corrugated Roofing Sheet. These are laid next to each other with an overlap for waterproofing. Our Corrugated Roofing Sheets are galvanised for increased protection and resistance to corrosion, which makes them ideal for outdoor applications. They are also known as roof cladding. What is Corrugated Roofing Sheet used for?
Corrugated roofing sheets are installed on buildings and are very popular due to the very easy installation and excellent protective qualities they have. They are used to cover roofs of garden sheds and outbuildings. Used on farms and in agriculture they are used for roofing, and for cladding on the side of barns and other buildings. Some of our customers have also used corrugated sheets for cladding on the inside of bars and clubs to create an urban effect. What sizes of Corrugated Roofing Sheet do you supply?
We supply individual sheet sizes that are 2000mm, 2500mm, and 3000mm long. All sheets have an effective cover width of 990mm. Each sheet is 0.5mm thick. The grade of steel used is grade Z275G.How can I work with Corrugated Roofing Sheet?
Each of our Corrugated Roofing Sheets has an effective cover width of 990mm. They are often installed with an overlap of one and a half corrugations to make them waterproof. The height or depth of each corrugation is 19mm, and the distance between the top of two adjacent ridges (the pitch) is 38.1mm.
Self drill screws (also known as Tek screws) can be used to secure Corrugated Roofing Sheets to a metal or wood frame without the need of pre-drilling the frame. Self drill screws are zinc plated to increase their resistance to corrosion, and come complete with a sealable washer. We supply these in 25mm or 38mm long, and in packs of either 10 or 100.
Corrugated Roofing Sheet can be cut with an angle grinder
and metal cutting disc
Cutting or drilling can remove the galvanised coating from around the area being drilled or cut. It is a good idea to treat any machined areas with Galvanised Aerosol Paint
Aerosol Paint, which is also available from metals4U. More information about working with galvanised products is available in our Technical Section
, on the What is Mild Steel page.Benefits
- Highly robust
- Resistant to weather and corrosion
- Excellent protective qualities
- Easy to installFinishing
Our Corrugated Roofing Sheet is galvanised to provide a surface which is highly resistant to corrosion. Painting of Corrugated Roofing Sheet is not necessary to provide additional protection. However for aesthetic purposes, galvanised products can be painted or powder-coated if desired. If you want to paint your galvanised sheet steel, we would recommend using a Direct to Galvanised Metal paint, which is available via our Hammerite Metal Paint
