Open Steel Flooring is also known as Walkway Mesh Flooring, Steel Mesh Flooring, Galvanized Mesh Flooring and Open Mesh Steel Flooring.
The design and adjust-ability of this industrial flooring make it a safe and hard wearing option for both external and internal use.
Our steel grating is a mesh of bearer bars and transverse bars that are welded together to create the finished sheet.
The main load carry capacities are governed by the bearer bars. Usually these are between 20mm to 60mm deep and have a thickness of 3 or 5mm. We list this measurement first.
Total load carrying is defined by the spacing of the bearer bars. The bars on our mesh are spaced at 41mm.
The transverse bar is what holds the sheet together. Often this a 5mm diameter bar and is 100mm long on our sheets.
To sum up please see an example of our open mesh flooring. 25 (depth of bearer bar) x 3 (width of bearer bar) 41 (spacing of bearer bar) / 100 (spacing of transverse bar). This is then written as 25 x 3 41/100.
We sell this in both self colour and galvanised steel. The self colour material can be welded but will need a protective coating in order to prevent corrosion. The galvanised option has the coating needed to prevent corrosion but cannot be welded due to the noxious fumes it would give off.
